Many of our patients are admitted to Promise suffering from severe respiratory issues and are connected to ventilators in order to breathe. Our respiratory team diligently works with each patient to wean them off of the mechanical ventilator and help them breathe on their own again.
Having the ability to spend extended time with each patient allows us to provide the much needed attention and care they need to regain their stability and reclaim their independence. As a result, Promise Hospital excels in ventilator weaning with our wean rates exceeding industry standards and benchmarks.
Our staff is specially trained in weaning and decannulation protocols and receives constant training on the most current treatments and techniques to provide quality care and achieve positive outcomes.
Our Patients Typically:
- Are on life support and require ventilator weaning and management
- Have a tracheostomy in place and require tracheostomy care and weaning/decannulation
- Are diagnosed with: Chronic Respiratory Failure, ARDS (acute respiratory distress syndrome), COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), Neuromuscular Disease, chronic lung issues such as Asthma, Bronchitis, Emphysema, Lung Fibrosis, Pneumonia, and Lung Cancer
